About Belbin / Team Role Methodology

Streams recognize the high value of effective teamwork in managing complex projects and is accredited by Belbin Associates UK to apply the Belbin Team Role methodology.

The Belbin Team Role methodology was developed by Dr. Meredith Belbin in the 1970s through empirical study at Henley Management College, UK.  Observation over time of behaviour patterns within successful teams resulted in the development of the 9 Belbin "team roles".   The value of Belbin Team Role theory lies in enabling an individual or team to benefit from self-knowledge and adjust according to the demands being made by the external situation.
